Ilsa is an architect and landscape designer with over 25 years of experience in the design and delivery of a wide variety of building and landscape projects.
Having trained as an architect in South Africa and graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1995, Ilsa moved to Ireland in 1999 and joined Murray O’Laoire Architects. She was made an Associate Director some years later and worked in Murray O’Laoire Architects until 2010 after which she started her own architectural practice. She continued working on large scale, commercial and education projects in collaboration with RKD Architects until 2014.
Ilsa has designed and produced a wide range of building projects including Killorglin Town Centre, Sheen Falls Country Club housing, community nursing homes for the HSE, primary care centres and several building in University College Cork. Her work for Killorglin Town Centre was exhibited as best public space by the RIAI in 2008 and commended in the OPUS 2007 Awards.
Ilsa is a Registered architect and member of the RIAI and has completed a course in Horticulture through the Royal Horticultural Society.
The focus of her practice is on bespoke, site specific landscape architecture for interesting projects of any scale.
